Module 1: Atopy 101
In dealing with atopy in pets, it is critical to understand and manage the expectations for this lifelong condition, which can never be cured, but hopefully may be controlled. Building a thorough medical history from a detailed questionnaire adds to the information gathered from a complete examination and diagnostic procedures. Therapy is devised to control the disease the best way possible with the least amount of risk for the patient.

Module 2: Principles of Topical Therapy 202
With a wide variety of clinical presentations of skin disease, and even wider choices in products, it is essential to pair the right therapy with the condition. Otherwise treatments may not be successful, or complications can occur. Medical team members are the best resource for recommendations as to proper selection of topical therapy in skin-related cases, from shampoos to leave-on lotions.

Module 3: Diagnosis and Management of Chronic Otitis
Otitis externa is a common complaint in pets, and chronic otitis can be frustrating to manage. A proper understanding of the anatomy of the ear structures and determining the causes of otitis (predisposing, primary and perpetuating) can aid in setting appropriate treatment goals. Client education is important in maximizing compliance of treatment and setting realistic expectations.
